Polyonics has introduced the FMVSS 302 family of flame retardant label materials. This line helps prevent the propagation of fire in automotive under-the-hood and interior labeling applications. The materials are UL94 VTM-0 rated and third party tested to the FMVSS 302 automotive burn standard. They are thermal transfer and flexographic ink printable and range from a low cost polyester (PET) XF-611 to a high temperature polyimide XF-603. The XF-603 is also rated to the UL94 V0 standard, and offers low smoke and toxicity.
